Encounter

The Encounter team is a partnership between IFES Ireland and the World Harvest MAP team, bringing together students from all over Ireland and the United States. It combines 2 weeks of ministry training with 2 weeks of outreach teams in various spots around the Republic of Ireland.

Why consider ENCOUNTER?...
Ireland is worth it...There are real ministry opportunities right here and we want to be part of what God is doing in Ireland.
You're worth it... the training programme is a fundamental part of the encounter team.  We want to invest in you in a way that provides opportunity for you to get to know God more and also in a way that you can bring back to your life, college and church.
Jesus is worthy... We want to see Jesus lifted up across Ireland.  This starts with allowing him to transform our own hearts.

The Encounter team is about God's kingdom advance in IRELAND.  How are you becoming the story of the gospel as well as just communicating it?

ARE YOU IN?!
The venue is Greystones and the dates are 13 June to 13 July 2009. For more info contact Lorraine.

Peru

peru map
Following on from the links established in summer 2007 and 2008 with AGEUP (the Peruvian IFES movement), IFES Ireland in partnership with Latin Link will be sending another team to Peru.

The vibrancy of Latin America sits in sharp contrast to the poverty, immorality and instability which undermine its societies. An army of whole-life disciples is needed to transform those communities to fullness. IFES works with students to bring to life God's love and truth. AGEUP has  a vision for a bright future, where all can experience fullness of life.

Passion shines from AGEUP Director Juan's eyes as he shares how students in Peru are giving hope to societies where inequalities abound: play areas instead of rubbish heaps, education and medical treatment in place of neglect, God's love in place of despair.
The team will be working alongside staff and students from AGEUP in a community development project, taking part in campus outreach, and helping lead English Bible Studies.

There are 10 places on the team which will run from 19 June to 14 July, and will cost £1700/€2000.

Cambridge International Outreach

Every summer over 10,000 students from all over the world come to Cambridge to study English. They come from Europe, the Middle East and East Asia, from many different religious and cultural backgrounds. The aim of Cambridge International Outreach is to offer friendship to these students and, if they wish,
to share with them the Good News of Jesus Christ. The aim of the outreach is to build genuine friendships with international students and sensitively offer them the chance to hear about the Christian faith.
The team run two international cafes each evening, where there are activities like cultural evenings and pancake nights as well as optional Bible studies for those interested. Various activities (from volleyball to museum visits) take place in the afternoons, and mornings are for team training on a whole range
of cross-cultural issues and Bible study.
You don't have to be an expert in cross-cultural communication or be fluent in five languages to be involved! All you need is a living faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and a desire to share the Good News with others.

5 - 19 July 2009
€100 for two weeks!!
