Prayers for new CU in NCAD answered!
Alice Chaloner from NCAD CU writes ...
The National College of Art and Design (NCAD) is a small University in Dublin city centre with around 600 students.
During my three years in NCAD God has taught me many things, but this year I am particulary struck by His faithfullness. For many years people have been praying for a Christian Union to be estalished in NCAD; this January God answered those prayers.
God brought together a group of excited, scared but committed people who can't wait to see what He's going to do.
Grace, Brendan, Naomi and myself together and I had our first CU meeting on 26th of February. Since then God has continued to do the unexpected, surprising us more and more with each week that passes. Already we are a registered society with the support of our Student's Union and we have started our first poster campaign. As a core group of four we have bonded, shared, and been encouraged and challenged in ways we never expected. The talents and gifts that are emerging are so exciting but what amazes me most is the commitment and enthusiasm to proclaiming God in NCAD.
Last week, at our third meeting, we had two new people- a 50% increase!! It also now means that 1% of our entire student body has been to CU!
We know a great spiritual struggle is taking place over our campus but we believe that God will be victorious. We're so excited to see NCAD CU grow and develop but realise that without God's direction it's a pointless exercise. As a very new CU we would appreciate your prayers, particularly in the coming months.
