My story
Tracy, a first year student in UL writes...
In November 2006 a very good friend of mine brought me along to a CU meeting and I have been attending regularly ever since. Not very strange, except that at the time I was an atheist. I don't know why I continued going but looking back now, I believe God was calling me. I really started searching for God in February of this year and finally put my faith in Jesus and accepted Him as my saviour in April. I cannot fully explain or express the joy, love, hope and peace I have found through putting my faith in Jesus.
The incredible fellowship, love for God and compassion for humankind within the CU at UL have been huge influences in my spiritual journey. The students within it have been, and continue to be, caring and understanding in all their dealings with me and my many questions about the Bible and Christianity in general. They have been an invaluable help in my struggle to become a Christian - and it has been a struggle as none of my family are Christians and this can be hard to deal with. They made me their friend and then they made me their sister in Christ and for that I will be forever grateful. The various events and meetings which the CU have run during the past semester: weekly meetings, Bible studies, morning prayer meetings and Glad You Asked (DVD-based discussions), all helped me to keep my search for God a priority. Since becoming a Christian they have helped me to get closer to God and living my life for Jesus.
